Hayes Jewelers Wins AJA Awards

Congratulations to Marshall Sanford for winning first place in his
category from the Alabama Jewelers Association with this awesome
opal pendant design. The opal was cut and polished by Jerry Wiggins.
Marshall designed the beautiful setting. We also congratulate
Natalya Douglas winning a $500 design scholarship.

| Alabama Jewelers Association president Marshall Sanford is proud to announce that Hayes Jewelers of Mobile won three awards in the Custom Design contest, a statewide contest held in Birmingham April 5-7, 2020. |

Natalya
Douglas won first place in Category 1 with her non-magnetic hematite
necklace. Blake Turner received first place in Category 3 for a custom piece shaped like an hourglass. Turner also won the People’s Choice Award for his work. Mary Hayes, founder and owner of Hayes Jewelers, received the Lifetime Membership Award from the Association at the conference. Hayes has a deep passion for the jewelry industry. She is a tireless advocate for bringing the younger generation into the industry. |

She served on the Bishop State College School for Jewelry and Watch Repair Board of Directors. She has employed over a dozen graduates
and helped countless others find jobs in the industry.  The Alabama Jewelers Association was founded in 1924. Its members
are from all counties in the state. Sanford, also of Hayes
Jewelers, was the 2020 the state president of the organization.Hayes established Hayes Jewelers in March of 1982. For over 37 years, Hayes Jewelers has specialized in nationally-known fine jewelry lines, custom design of jewelry, watch repair, and professional appraisal services. |
